Sandi’s long-time girlfriends, Maureen and Val, come to Whistler for their Second Annual Gal’s Gala. They start with a leisurely lunch on the patio at Nicklaus North Golf Course which boasts some of the finest views in Whistler.
Next it’s off to that haven of peace and quiet, the Scandinave Spa.
Engulfed in a spruce and cedar forest, this unique spa overlooks incredible mountain vistas and valleys. Widely recognized for their relaxing effects, Scandinavian baths and hot/cold hydrotherapy are associated with many benefits including cleansing the body, stimulating blood circulation and releasing endorphins.
The folks at the Scandinave Spa take their business of peace and quiet very seriously. The gals are reprimanded for too much giggling and ignoring the “Shhh” signs posted everywhere. Maybe non-talking spas aren’t the best idea for annual gal’s galas.
Feeling invigorated but unfortunately not ten years younger.
Time to hit the town and kicking off with Raspberry Royales.
The culinary cornerstone in the heart of Whistler Village, Araxi Restaurant, enjoys a long-held international reputation for excellence in food, wine and hospitality. The gals take advantage of the June five-course dinner menu, an incredible deal for only $30/person.
Val knows Sandi’s passion for chocolate well and brings a bottle of Chocolate Port—an appropo way to launch into the wee morning hours and some high-spirited gal-gabbing to make up for time lost at the spa.
