Happy Birthday Sandi

To celebrate Sandi's birthday we head south to Squamish and the newly-opened Sea to Sky Gondola which takes us up 885 metres above sea level to sweeping views of the Howe Sound fjord, luscious coastal forest and surrounding mountains.

The area offers a variety of hiking trails and easy access to incredible mountain terrain: big alpine vistas, deep forests, spectacular rocky perches, crystal mountain streams and more.

A short walk from the parking lot is Shannon Falls Provincial Park. Dropping from 335 metres (1,105 ft) above it's base, Shannon Falls is an impressive sight rising above Howe Sound. As the 3rd tallest falls in BC, its incredibly easy access make it by far the most popular picnicking spot and visitor attraction in the Sea to Sky Corridor.

With age comes privilege so Tim is treating Sandi to one of her favourite things—food, glorious food! As many of you know Sandi is a foodie and her choice for dinner tonight is the Barefoot Bistro, one of Whistler's finest restaurants.

We indulge in a 5-course extravaganza both choosing Yarrow Meadows Duck Breast as our main course. The succulent duck is served with prosciutto-wrapped prune and goat cheese, beets, buckwheat, endive and celeriac purée.

Fit for a birthday girl—warm Valrhona chocolate mousse, birch syrup frozen parfait and caramelized brioche. Happy birthday Sandi!
