L♥VE-lls

Today we celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary. We had reservations for dinner at a fine restaurant in Vancouver but our hotel room was so cosy and romantic it was a no-brainer to cancel, stay in our hotel robes, order room service, crack some bubbly, watch a movie, and bask in the joys of being...

Snow Problem

The snow continues to fall in our neck of the woods but it's no problem. Here's what we do.

GO SNOWSHOEING. Nothing like an intense 6 km trek deep in the Canadian woods to pass some time.

BAKE A BABA (AU RHUM bien sûr). It's a once-a-year tradition in our household that, seriously folks, doesn't get any better than this recipe from Ina Garten's Barefoot in Paris cookbook.

EAT A BABA. See what we mean? Happy days.

SHOP THE VILLAGE.

One of Sandi's favourite shops in Whistler Village is newly opened, 3 Singing Birds—a gathering of small design companies with a mindful and fair trade philosophy.

Whether it's beautiful felted owls from Salt Spring Island or Jess Brown dolls from California, this small shop is choc-a-bloc full of tempting goodies. While Tim waits for Sandi, he heads to CAN-SKI and Escape Route for all his outdoor gear wishes and adventure dreams.

Stop at Purebread Bakery for an Adults Only Cookie. Despite its moniker, there's nothing scandalous to be found in this delectable cookie. Made with rich, dark chocolate, rosemary and topped with Vancouver Island sea salt, it's a strange, melt-in-your-mouth combination that just works.

HIT THE SLOPES. Cuz they're big and they're there.

SPEND TIME WITH GOD. Bible study and prayer. The best part of every day. For we are His workmanship to the smallest detail, existing for the highest purpose of all—to know Him in a deep, personal relationship forever. He is our life.

DIP INTO FONDUE. At The Den Restaurant at Nicklaus North Golf Course. All the better that March is 50% off month.

RIDE A TUBE. A warm-up to...

RIDE A BOBSLEIGH. This isn't us but... maybe next time?
